Reviving the surface of the artwork.
We conserve and restore oil, acrylic, tempera and other paintings on canvas, wood and board through cleaning, stabilisation, varnish treatment and precise retouching using appropriate reversible materials.

How We Treat a Painting
Each project is documented through imaging, condition mapping and written reports, recording the painting before, during and after treatment.
- 01
Scientific examination
We assess the structure and materials, signs of deterioration and any earlier restoration.
- 02
Surface cleaning
Dirt is removed and varnish is treated with methods tailored to the age and fragility of the work.
- 03
Structural repair
Tears, splits and distortions are treated while keeping the original format and stability.
- 04
Pigment consolidation
Flaking and powdering paint is secured to prevent further loss.
- 05
Careful retouching
Losses are reintegrated with restraint, and stay distinguishable from the original on close examination.
- 06
Preventive care
We advise on humidity, temperature, light, storage, mounting and safe handling.
